Frequently asked questions
How do I pair with my partner?
One of you generates an invite code in the app and shares it with the other. Your partner enters that code to connect. Once paired, you can start sending notes to each other right away.
How do I send a note?
On the Compose screen, draw your note by hand or switch to Write to type one, then tap Send. Your partner receives it as a push notification with the note's image, and it appears on their widget.
My partner didn't get my note. What happened?
Notes arrive as push notifications, so delivery depends on notifications being enabled and the device being online. Ask your partner to check that notifications for Dearlie are turned on in their iPhone Settings, and that they have a network connection. If a note still doesn't arrive, open the note in the app — you can re-send delivery from there.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap the + button in the top corner, search for Dearlie, choose a widget size, and add it. Your partner's latest note will appear on it. A lock-screen widget is also available.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select Dearlie to change or cancel your plan. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep premium until the end of the current period.
How do I restore a purchase?
If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, open Dearlie's upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the same Apple ID you used to buy.
Is the Jar ever deleted or paywalled?
No. The Jar is your permanent archive of notes and is never paywalled. Notes stay there until you delete a note or your account.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and data. See our account deletion guide for details, or email desmond@mouss.ac.
Can I re-pair with a different partner?
You can dissolve your current pairing in the app, which disconnects both accounts. After that, either of you can create or join a new pairing with a fresh invite code.
